Little Windmills started life in 1989 in the Cambridgeshire village of Swaffham Prior and subsequently moved to neighbouring Reach, a small rural village with a church and pub. There is also a large village green which is the location for Reach Fair the oldest recorded fair in the country held every May Day since King John granted a charter in the year 800.
Reach Woods and a children’s playground and playing field are popular village amenities and the village is at the end of the Devil’s Dyke earthworks. The lode which at one time carried clunch used for building, still survives and is a popular attraction.
Being located in the Reach Village Centre which is in the heart of the village, we are very easy to find with plenty of parking space directly outside. The neighbouring village of Burwell is just 1.5m away and Swaffham Prior is also only 1m.
We operate within two rooms which all children have access to as well as an outside play area.
We attract children from Reach and the surrounding villages. We take children from the age of 2 up to school admission age. Many of our children join the reception class at Swaffham Prior school.
